Apps Fuel Mobile Games Sales Bonanza

Sales of mobile games will twice over the next 4 years to fuel a universal marketplace value $10bn in 2014. Apps are to blame.

In 2010 alone, Apple’s App Store, on the contrary iPad, is approaching to produce $1.7bn in mobile games revenues – roughly 30 per cent of the marketplace today.

‘Traditional’ mobile games mop up about sixty per cent, and other app stores, in specific the Android Market account is to balance.

Smartphones able of handling improved high quality games are key to growth.

Futuresource, the consultancy that conducted the research, expects a fifty per cent enlarge in tenure of game-tastic phones in 2010, to take the hardware bottom to 270 million units worldwide.
